Everyday Ornament blends intuitions drawn from childhood memories and past experiences with solid historical and social references. Through drawing, design, and craft, Adèle materializes and narrates worlds that are both deeply personal and collectively resonant.
The installation is composed of linoleum and ceramic pieces.
Its aim: to reintroduce ornamentation into the everyday. It demonstrates that ornament and figuration are powerful tools for dissecting society in all its complexity.
By producing part of the project at EKWC (the European Ceramic Work Center), Adèle explores the tension between the inside and outside of an object.By deconstructing the order of ornamentation across eras, she communicates her own stories.
Eclecticism becomes her weapon, allowing her to combine styles and embed contemporary, mundane details within them.
