Frontispiece is an installation presented at the Confort Mental gallery, co-created by Kai Yoda (from the duo Ittah Yoda) and Adèle Vivet.
The exhibition was supported by the curatorial collective Virages and the DRAC Île-de-France.
In the spirit of an exquisite corpse, the two artists exchanged 3D models, altering them in turn through a continuous back-and-forth—each one completing or deconstructing the other’s forms.
The installation emerges from the collision and layering of their respective worlds, blending their experiments in form, technique, and material. This stratified landscape takes the shape of a puzzle, where the forms melt into one another, interlock, and become unidentifiable.
The artists create a contemporary ruin where human construction and organic matter respond to one another, questioning our relationship with permanence and ephemerality. Their work draws from the universe and theatricality of Italian artist Piranesi (1720–1778), whose influence was central to their creative process.
