Two sisters in residency - duo with Blanche Vivet
Adèle and Blanche Vivet are a sister duo of artists exploring the idea of modern enchantment. As part of the Achille residency program, they have been invited to present their work in their duo show at La Grande Passerelle in Saint-Malo, in December 2024, open to the general public.
Through a dialogue between precise historical references and emotional overflow, they reinterpret the city of Saint-Malo—the backdrop of their childhood.Through writing, oil painting, and 3D-printed sculpture, they dive into past stories to relive them and bring others along into their legends.
The tale, both for its symbolic value and its transformation throughout history, serves as their guiding thread. The mermaid and the witch are two figures distorted by time and pop culture, which they explore during their residency.Through a form of “duo-fiction,” the two sisters see this residency as a pause in time—an opportunity to reconnect and weave together their individual memories. As part of its support for the visual arts and artistic creation, the City of Saint-Malo offers an annual residency program for one or more visual artists.
Located on the grounds of the Domaine de la Briantais, the Atelier de l’Achille is designed as a space for experimentation, creation, and exchange, culminating in a post-residency exhibition.
