“Adèle Vivet’s projects (painting, ceramics, 3D printing) are woven with historical references, held together and connected through distinctly contemporary digital techniques. Protrusions, swollen extensions, shadowy fluid forms, unidentified creatures, misshapen organs. Here, with a reinterpretation of the Medusa myth—but more broadly, in the very shapes she creates—her recent works resemble encrypted self-portraits, in which she dares to explore her relationship with the body and with eating disorders.Her practice involves a constant back-and-forth between a passion for certain ancestral forms of knowledge and their modernity, shaped by their historical context, as well as a fascination with club culture and the rave party space as a release—a tool for mental health.”
